If your junior tennis player has big aspirations, then Bosse Sports in Sudbury is the right place to start! At Bosse Sports our Junior Tennis clinics provide a dynamic environment combining instruction that will inspire your son or daughter to become the best junior tennis player they can be. Our tennis professionals goal is to build the complete player in a small 4:1 clinic ratio. Our program is fun and challenging at the same time and in the end your son or daughter will be well on their way to mastering the game of tennis. The Bosse Sports junior tennis clinics follow the suggested guidelines from the USTA listed below.
The 36 Red format is played on a 36-by-18 foot court, with a red foam or red felt ball and 19- to 23-inch racket. Players in this format are being introduced to the proper grip, preparation and swing path for each stroke as well as learning the basic footwork patterns and stances. Tactically, red players are acquiring the skills of consistency, placement, and basic spin as they learn to control the ball and rally. To begin points, red players are developing a consistent toss and rhythmic service motion to minimize double faults and learning to apply the proper ground-stroke technique.
The 60 Orange format is played on a 60-by-21-foot court, with an orange ball and a 23- to 25-inch racket. Players In this format are developing more advanced stroke technique, greater court coverage and improved recognition skills. Orange players need to develop greater racket-head speed to control the ball with improved pace, spin, height and depth. Tactically, orange players are developing high percentage patterns with the forehand as a weapon from the baseline and improving net transition skills on a larger court. Orange players are progressing in their ability to hold serve with greater spin, power and control and are learning to read the serve and adjust the size of their back swing on the return accordingly.
